Avid CR lever bushings worn out

Hi All,

On the wife's Giant Faith, the Avid lever bushings seem to have worn out, and the lever has quite a bit of play with a tendency to move away from the handlebars. She doesn't have the longest fingers so I'm a bit worried that she won't be able to grab them in a hurry if she needs to brake.

Short of educating her about the ways of keeping the levers covered with one finger all the time, is there a quick and dirty way to repair this, or will it just be best to replace the whole unit?

Cheers

A few options, in order of most ghetto to least:

1. Drill a hole in the level blade where it tapers into a flat section (towards the body), cut a little bit of rubber and tie it through there and around the bars. (I have this setup atm, works okay)
2. Run an elastic band round it to the bars.
3. Buy an avid elixir lever rebuild kit (~$30) and install it.

Thanks Shredden... where's best place for a rebuild kit? TBSM have a couple although they look like they are for Codes and not Elixir CRs.
