Bar Ends

Hey there, have been out of the game for quite a few years, but good to be back. I need some help please. Are Bar Ends legal to race XC with ? I've tried trolling thru the MTBA Bible, but to no avail

And they are fucked. I've tried them at the behest of my road oriented lbs who is flogging them for $40 a pop to roadies with MTBs. They appear to be for roadies who can't figure out how to hang to a set of mtb bars and still move their weight around...
