Hay Lads, just seeing who has there pride and joy insured and just seeing which people you can go through, can you do it through your bank or is there like a Just Car Insurance for bikes, I'am considering it as my garage is now quite expensive.

Cheers

You can get specialised bike insurance through velosure, but they are very expensive. I've got my bike insurance included in my home and contents insurance, it's much cheaper, about $10 a month. It covers me for crash damage, theft, accidental breakage etc. I'm even covered for when I go to NZ next month.

From memory, mines under the family Home and Contents insurance which is probably the cheapest way to go. I'm covered against accidental damage when I stack, theft and all the other stuff that comes with H&C insurance.

I think the bike has to be at my home at least once every 90 days to technically be insured, which is a bummer seeing as I'm moving out in a few days...

I looked extensively at different options, but for the number of bikes I have the best option worked out to be Cyclecover. A lot of others require you to list bikes individually; one even had a clause that if your bike is modified "from the manufacturers specifications", they have the right to deny the claim. ie, if you even change say a saddle, or cassette, they had the right to say "nup, breaches this clause". I quickly queried them about this, then raised it with the ombudsman when they didn't care, which I believe resulted in a 5 figure fine.

Be careful of dodgy clauses like that.

I'd really like to say, but I absolutely assure you I can't.
So I insist you read the PDS of any products carefully.
