Talking about feminist ads, I seem to remeber that cannondale add with cedric Gracia and he was naked.
Yep, an athlete showing off his athleticism, which even I am man enough to appreciate in some way (note: If you want to jump in and go "ur a fag" or something, you can talk over your repressed homosexual leanings with my girlfriend).
And then you get shit like Flow which knocks the whole sport back a level with its blatantly sexist stick mag fetish garbage with half naked ho's on every second page - I'm not remotely interested in soft porn masquerading as a bicycle magazine, even dirt is a little edgy on that now and then...
Even the Marzocchi ads are a bit much now, like maybe it was okay once or twice back in like 1996?1997? when the bomber was new, but all these years down the track I can't see how such an ingrained sexist marketing ploy is a good thing.

The offices of Flow should be burnt to the ground and the editor stabbed in the face with a broken beer bottle. If they could come up with a better way to actively discourage women from participating in our sport, I wouldn't want to see it.

Stabbing him wouldn't be much use if you'd already burnt him to death.

It would be symbolic of my righteous fury to stab his charred corpse with said broken bottle.

Or you could just assume that the offices were burnt down during the night when noone was there and the editor stabbed later...

Why burn the offices down if there's nobody in them though? It's like bombing an empty paddock...

Does anyone actually buy Flow or just read it in the newsagency like I do?

I'm yet to meet someone that likes that magazine...I suppose it looks nice, the paper is glossy it is all just one big fat piece of eye candy.

I say keep the soft porn to the confines of the Playboy Extreme C.X Team and let bike rags be bike rags with the occasional sexual or gender reference thats in context.

A good friend asked me the other day if the "laddism" of mountain biking gave me the shits and I even surprised myself by my answer.

I said it was actually pretty funny.

I doubt of Orange is trying to sell ME a Double D and I am not in the market for a Muddy Fox....I'd like a Santa Cruz Heckler for my b'day thanks.

We have up to 3 girls that race in the MTBMX class at Ipswich and Browns Plains BMX tracks every Friday night.
Maximum respect !
Can't seem to get the XC boys to give it a go.

Great to see more girls around - it was awesome to see so many racing at the Magpie Creek DH!

Just thought I'd ask if anyone online went to the Womens Weekend at Thredbo at the beginning of this year? I was thinking about giving it a go next year (provided its on and I have the moolah :) )

I didn't go to the Womens Weekend, purely cause its a bit of a hike to Thedbo from Brisbane. I did drive down to Eildon for the Nationals, with 6 bikes in the ute, and picked up my mate from the Melbourne airport.

Womens Weekend sounds awesome. Can't wait until I get a chance to hit up Thedbo.

So it will be on again? Excellant! Hope you get yourself all mended by that time ruthlessgirl :D

And yeah, it is a bit of a trek from Brissy but I'm happy to sacrifice a few hours in the car for a couple of days at thredbo.

Its only a bit of a hike when I had to drive back to Brissy, and then back down to Eildon for the nationals.

...for those too lazy to click. Those are the new Syncros hoops and tires. The biggest 2.7's on the market. I think they look like cartoon wheels, but Barb says they track ultra stable.

Action shots tomorrow.
