Hey mate, what brakes do you currently have on your bike?
With DJ and 4X alot of people like running Avid bb5 or bb7.
Plenty of stopping power and since they are cables, you don't
have to worry if your brake lines get damaged, cheaper to replace
than Hydros.
If you are looking at hydro brakes, second hand Avid Juicy 3's are
a good choice. Cheap and effective.

Running a just a rear brake might be the cool thing for DJ, but if you're going to be doing 4X I'd get a front as well. You should be able to pickup a 2nd hand set of Juicy 5 or 7s pretty cheap, if you're on a budget, or a new pair of Elixirs is only $280 on CRC.
