Bright & surrounds

Hey guys, so my little family (me, the manbeast and the dogbeast) are going to Bright for a few days in a month's time. Accommodation is booked, we've got a bit planned, but damned if we can think of anywhere to take the dogbeast to play in snow - having never been exposed to it before we thought it would be fun to see his reaction to the stuff. But according to the MIL anywhere it's going to snow happens to be a national park and being caught there with a dog will get us into Huge Shit, including Mt Hotham if we went up that way.

There must be somewhere to take a dog to snow around Bright?

is dinner plain considered national park? I used to have huskies and there was a snow race there each year, thought it was only possible as it's not considered part of the park, though could be wrong.
