building a jump.....?

hey im not sure if this is in the wrong section, sorry if it is,

and i was really wanting to build a tabletop thats semi portable (wooden)

and i was woundering how you can make the lip of it ?? and whats the best wood to get if there is a certain type ?

and it should be a decient size and a good jump for an intermediate rider..

so if any of u guyz have any ideas it would be a great helpppp

hey man go to http://www.diyskate.com/ramps.html its at the bottom of the page they have heaps of different ramps but they will probably be heavy so you might need some wheels

i would have a search, because i am sure i seen heaps of really well built jumps made by people from here. i seen someone make a wooden half pipe on here, can't remember who but yea i search would help man.

DON'T make a table top if it's going to be a decent sized jump.

Make a take off, and a lander with a case pad.

Your best off making a wooden/steel upramp to dirt down ramp if possible.

From what I hear 7 foot high with a 12 foot radius is the best. I.E Get a 12 foot long piece of string, pin one end down, and pull it tight, and start walking it round in a circle while keeping pressure on the string. Do this till you have a curve that is 7 foot high. That is your transition. Up to you for the rest.
