All the time. Even right now.

Do you have a mp3 player?
Yes. 128mb.

Do you like the idea of having a mp3 player on a watch? Why?
No. I will have to plug my earphones into the watch, so I can't do writing or riding at the same time for fear of cable jack. I have to change batteries to often. The chunkiness will pull my left arm to the ground.

Would you buy a watch that played MP3s and could exchange MP3s with other of the same watches?
I like the idea - but would be hindered by the practicality of it all. So probably no. (ntm I already have a watch AND a mp3)

What sort of music do you listen to?

Anything that involves real instruments - none of this pop/rap rubbish. Some examples are chili peppers, metallica, incubus, placebo, powderfinger, dream theater (fairly unknown), tool, smashing pumpkins etc.

How often or when do you listen to music?
In the car to school, a fair bit on the radio, a fair bit on the computer. None at school, and usualy just radio when travelling.

Do you have a mp3 player?
No

Do you like the idea of having a mp3 player on a watch? Why?
Not really, i think it would be too small to be funcional, or too bulky to be an effective watch. It would probably also come with a huge price tag.

What is the first word that comes into your mind when you see these words?

• Sound Soft……………………………………………………………Easy listening
• Sound FX……………………………………………………………Special effects (explosions etc)
• S-Force………………………………………………………………………(music to listen to while) boxing
• T-sonic………………………………………………………………………hedgehog
• M-pump3……………………………………………………………………(music to listen to while) aerobics

The main reason that I think watches should be able to play MP3s
Cause everyone loves small, cool gadgets, and this is probably the next step in the technological revolution.

Would you buy a watch that played MP3s and could exchange MP3s with other of the same watches?
Not really, computer music is enough for me.

What sort of music do you listen to?
Breaks
Drum and Bass
Trance
Techno

How often or when do you listen to music?
• E.g. In the car
• On the radio
• While traveling
• While at school

5 or 6 hours per day

Do you have a mp3 player?
No (unless you count computers, which technically are MP3 players)

Do you like the idea of having a mp3 player on a watch? Why?
No, because as John said it would be either too big or not useful.

What is the first word that comes into your mind when you see these words?

• Sound Soft - quiiet
• Sound FX - sound effects
• S-Force - lol the company I work for
• T-sonic - no idea
• M-pump3 - don't know but I'm sure it pumps M's better than the M-pump2

The main reason that I think watches should be able to play MP3s
"Should"??? Using a watch USB drive they already can.

Would you buy a watch that played MP3s and could exchange MP3s with other of the same watches?
No, I don't wear a watch because I break them. This would just be a more expensive watch for me to break.

What sort of music do you listen to?
In descending order of preference Punk, New Wave, Ska, Trip-Hop, 'Alternative'.

How often or when do you listen to music?
While travelling (train and bike, can't hear stereo over my dieing car). While working on the nerd box. I would normally spend at least 3 hours a day listening to music while doing these things.

Do you have a mp3 player?
Yes, generic 256mb USB flash drive style.

Do you like the idea of having a mp3 player on a watch? Why?
No. I don't wear a watch. The wrist seems like an inconvenient place to mount a device that needs a cable connected to your head.

The main reason that I think watches should be able to play MP3s
I don't think they should.

Would you buy a watch that played MP3s and could exchange MP3s with other of the same watches?
Not a watch, but a small portable device that could easily exchange files with other similar devices does sound appealing.

• Sound Soft -some cheap mp3 player in the dodgy areas of china town
• Sound FX-a gun
• S-Force a condom brand
• T-sonic- a tazer
• M-pump3- some rip off of the mp3 codec

The main reason that I think watches should be able to play MP3s
portability, and to listen to music in school detentions, wear a long sleeve shirt and the cord can run up your arm and up to your ear. sneaky inconspicous :p
Would you buy a watch that played MP3s and could exchange MP3s with other of the same watches?
ony if it could have atleast 512m space, and atleast a 20hour battery life without it being a brick on ur arm

Trance, Tracid, Acid, House, Hardcore house, Hip hop/rap.

How often or when do you listen to music?
24/7, have constant music playing. unless i'm working or studying

Do you have a mp3 player?
Yes. An Aiwa mp3/cd player

Do you like the idea of having a mp3 player on a watch? Why?
No. Do not wear a watch, and would just be weird having a ear phone cable running from u're wrist to u're ears. Pretty inconvenient and i think that it would be a pretty big watch if it were to play mp3s, have adequate battery life and hold a good amount of mp3s.
IMO the mobile phone has pretty much taken over, a lot of people no longer rely on watches cuz their phones have it, their phones also have cameras and a lot of phones have mp3/radio

The main reason that I think watches should be able to play MP3s...
If anything, because of advancement in technology. i could imagine this survey being taking 5 years ago about "cameras on phones," people critisezed it when they heard of it, but now everyone has one. its another cool gadget to add to our pile.
I recokn it could be cool for the sport junky. a watch with: music, pulse rate (somehow taken through ears, ahahaha,) timing blah.

Would you buy a watch that played MP3s and could exchange MP3s with other of the same watches?
Not really, i'm sure there would be issues of compatability etc, and would take quite a while before more than one of my friends had a watch to share with.
I reckon adding that concept to modern mp3 players would be a great idea, like "fast bluetooth" from mp3 players to other mp3 players.

sorry about spelling its too early

Do you have a mp3 player?
No personal/portable MP3 player, I do have about 4GB of MP3 on the computer and a Pioneer DEH-M3550P MP3 capable head unit in my car

Do you like the idea of having a mp3 player on a watch? Why?

To be honest it sort of sounds like a good idea, but I would imagine the execution would be far too chunky and unwieldy, especially with the headphone wiring (unless it could be wireless) needing to somehow run up your arm or through your clothes somewhere to be out of the way. So- No.

What is the first word that comes into your mind when you see these words?

• Sound Soft Barry Manilow
• Sound FX Dodgy old movie with Bryan Brown
• S-Force Fox Force Five!
• T-sonic M-People movin on up
• M-pump3 Sounds like a bodgy gym class for bored housewives getting in touch with modern technology.

The main reason that I think watches should be able to play MP3s
Erm I don't see any reason, really. Watches are to be Watched, otherwise they'd be called a "listen"....

Would you buy a watch that played MP3s and could exchange MP3s with other of the same watches?

Nup. I'd buy one of those cool super mario bros game watches though, man they were rad.....

No, i have an MP3 player on my computer with 6000 MP3's

Do you like the idea of having a mp3 player on a watch? Why?

I don't wear watches

The main reason that I think watches should be able to play MP3s

Crappy idea.

Would you buy a watch that played MP3s and could exchange MP3s with other of the same watches?

What is it with the watches???? I don't wear watches and the size a watch would need to be to hold any amount of mp3's would be huge and bulky.

What sort of music do you listen to?
Anything and everything, hardcore electronic, DnB, hiphop, rock many varieties, metal of most varieties,

How often or when do you listen to music? Any time I am stationary. At work, at home on the pc, in the garage, if I'm getting driven somewhere we'll have music. Pretty much all the time as background music, but never when active, as I don't like having anything else on me (eg cd player) when I'm moving around.

Do you have a mp3 player? I did, but it died

Do you like the idea of having a mp3 player on a watch? Why? Nope, unless it was bluetooth... and even then, I wouldn't like it. Watches shit me to tears as is, but a watch with a cable running to my head would shit me off even more. It's just something to get caught/broken in my activities.

What is the first word that comes into your mind when you see these words?

•Sound Soft
Wimpy... think kleenex duckling
•Sound FX Bzzzzzztttt pwah ksssshhh
•S-Force dodgy early morning kids cartoons
•T-sonic T-REX attacked a blue spikey Sega game character
•M-pump3 dodgy engrish on dodgy products

The main reason that I think watches should be able to play MP3s I don't think they should, but if you wanted to have a useless product that could annoy others, well, fair enough.

Would you buy a watch that played MP3s and could exchange MP3s with other of the same watches? Nope.

no, i already have a watch, and i dont need an mp3 player as i have a MD. plus it would have shit battery life/little storage, and it would prob make the watch really chunky.

also, how strong would it be? cause like if you even knocked it, you might fuck it up

Do you like the idea of having a mp3 player on a watch? Why?

nice idea, but unless it used some sort of wireless headphones it'd be pretty impractical. sizewise it would probably end up around the size of a g-shock or something similarly chunky, but storage would probably be limited to less than 64 Mb for it to be viable. power shouldn't be a problem; if you just had the time and track no. and nothing else, you could probably run it off a couple of standard watch batteries or maybe a small mobile phone battery so it is rechargeable, but this would increase the size to about the size of a standard mp3 player which would probably be too big for a wristwatch. otherwise you could design a new battery to get max life out of min size, but it'd be very expensive. (sorry about the length, but this is what i do. should've thought of this for my final year project...)

it's a nice concept, but it'd probably be a bugger to design/build and i can't really think of any reason to take it any further than the concept stage, except maybe as the latest must have for all the bloody rich bastards out there.
