I was wondering if the dot 3 and 4 fluid used for cars and moto's is cool to use for MTB's. The price of Hayes kits etc is pretty rude, so this seems like it could be a cheaper option.

And just on the same note, I buy my fork oil from Moto shops too (picked up 2.5L of the stuff today :shock: )
I'm sure people already know this BUT some bike disc brake set ups are designed to run HYDRAULIC fluid and not brake/clutch fluid. You put brake fluid into them and you can kiss your internals (seals) bye-bye. For example.
