Chain gauge

Thinking to get a chain gauge to see if my chains are worn or not.

Looking at the options, why buy a $30 Shimano when on eBay you can get a $1.50 chinese …?
But there is always a halfway $20 BBB.

What do you reckon?

Grab a $5 x-tools from CRC http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/au/en/x-tools-chain-wear-indicator/rp-prod10219

Got 2 of them and 1 Park tool, they measure exactly the same on a worn chain, both x-tools and park tools have no difference when hitting the 0.75/1.0mm stretch.

Why not use a ruler and save your money to buy the new chain you probably need.

Either way, as a devoted carnivore I'll eat 'em both.
I wish I could use dustbin lids.... But they're all 26" and NOBODY rides those anymore.
No need for condoms. 30 years of mountain biking has left me sterile.
