Hey all,

I'm just wondering if any of you have had any luck hiring cycles in New York City? If so do you remember the name of the place you hired them from?

Cheers,
Tom

PS - On the scale of 1 to 10 hectic. Whats it like cycling in the city? Are there 'opt out' options (bike lanes or bike paths) Thanks thanks thanks

did not ire a bike but two tours with these guys on in 200 and one in 2011. Really enjoyed them. my wife enjoyed the Brooklyn tour and she hates bike riding

Bike hire seemed expensive up near central park.

Make sure you get out for a pedal - it is an awesome way to see the city. nothing like riding amoung the yellow cabs.

i was there earlier this year. depending on what you want, i hired those city bikes. great way to get around, you just download the app and it will tell you where there's available bikes and bike parking spots. cheap and good fun. city is pretty chaotic for riding.

the bikes themselves are heavy and shit, but doesn't matter.

i pretty much hire them every city i go to.

uber is ok, but get a cab from the airport set price to the island for $USD50.

I used these when I went to Manhattan in 2014. They are surprisingly useful. Heavy as buggery, but readily available, plenty of docking locations and cheap too. Better option than I possibly imagined.

I found NYC traffic pretty good to ride with - American drivers are far more relaxed than Sydney drivers, I found.
