CORC Trails team
With the World Cup fast approaching and the 24hr race following on shortly after, there is still a bit of work to do at Stromlo to get the trails in tip-top condition. So in order to touch up these final bits we will be running a working bee this Sunday 20th July, starting at 8.30am from the South-East corner of the carpark. And in order to test out our good work we are combining this with a social ride that will be kicking off after lunch on the Sunday, starting around 2.30pm (exact time TBC).
The areas we will be working on are spread all over the park, and like the last working bee we will have a group of team leaders and a solid workplan so we can get right into it from the get-go.
Some of the items on the plan include:
- Fixing up some braking ruts on the back-end of the trunk trail (24hr “Blue Loop”)
- Installing some drainage pipes and building up the tread at the exit to Joey’s Return
- Hardening up the trail tread on Breakout/Joey’s
- Work on the DH track to install some technical features
- Work on the top of the beginner DH track (24hr Red Loop)
