converting a bmx

After spending a heap of time learning some basic trials moves on my XC bike, I've decided I want a bike specifically for the purpose.
Laying around in the back yard is a WeThePeople bmx that is currently sitting unloved and in used.
I've been pondering to myself the possibilities of converting it for trials use, and so am wondering now if a bmx is a good place to start for a learning like? And if so, what's the best way to go about it?

it may take a little longer,
but sell the we the people to fund for a trials bike?
could work alright

Best option.

The geo on bmx's suck for trials, brakes don't really suit, will take a bit of playing to get the gearing right. Anything is rideable. But if you start investing cash into it... That cash could of been better spent on a bike.

If you have a keen eye and patience you'll find a second hand one from about $500 - or there are a few aussie guys selling complete like j5ve above.
