Over the last week, 16 year old Danielle Beecroft from Londonderry, Sydney has been competing at the Kokanee Crankworx Spectacular in Whistler , Canada.

A massive Mountain Biking Event on the European calendar. Danielle chose to enter in the Pro-Women's events instead of her own age divisions and achieved the following outstanding results in the events she competed in :

- Giant Slalom (Pro Women's) 3rd Place

- Ultimate Pumptrack Challenge (Pro Women's) 3rd Place

- Canadian Open Downhill (Pro Women's) 4th Place

- Jeep Air Downhill (Pro Women's) Danni was forced to stop during Race as fellow Aussie Rider Sarah Booth had an accident on the track just before Danielle and was air lifted to Vancouver Hospital with a punctured lung, broken ribs and internal bleeding. An outstanding effort from a young attractive courageous young girl in dangerous and challenging conditions up against Current and Past World Champions, more experienced and world class professional riders.

Any of these more experienced riders would be ecstatic with two 3rd placing's.

Amazing performance!

Danielle, you have done incredibly well, your run in Giant Slalom was brilliant!
Also, Canadian Open is a super gnarly track, the conditions were incredibly slippery, it's super steep and I can only imagine you've ridden much less of that kind of terrain than your very experienced competitors in that race, so big up!
So impressive!

Worthy of mention is:
- that Danni beat out names like Rachel Atherton in the Giant Slalom,
- beat the current World Cup Under 19 winner all week.
- Ahead of her in the Giant slalom was Jill Kintner and Melissa Buhl, both previous World #1's in 4X. Jill is also the current US #1 in DH.
- Danni also raced her DH rig in the giant slalom while most utilised a lighter short travel bike.
- This was Danni's first O/S race and international race; and
- she is only 16 !!!
Watch out world cause she is only going to get faster and she already jumps better than most of her male counterparts.
Congrats also to Brad Kelly and Paul King who have both had a part in training Danni and getting her ready for Crankwerx.

Awesome job Danni :)
