I dunno if AM is really the right genre but it's the closest to Trail so yeah.....
Snapped up a frame from the recent clearance sale, bought a few used bits from 'Burners, fork is the OEM 130mm from my Fuel EX.
Probably sell it and get another Trace 36 set at 140mm (frame suits 140-160 according to mfr specs)
New GX Eagle derailleur, shifter and chain so I could borrow the wheels off the Trek.
X-Fusion Manic dropper from cyclingdeal with old XT shifter to operate
XT M8000 brakes, 180/203mm rotors
The 2.5" tyre is a bit big, c/ring is a 30T with built in spacer and will be changed for a 32T along with my home made spider on a different crankset when I finish that.
Ooops forgot to swap the pedals (Saint from hifiandmtb)
Shitty QR seatpost clamp will be replaced with something nicer
A quick driveway test ride and it feels good. Will hit the trails ASAP once I've chucked some protection on the chainstay and downtube.
Fuckwit moments
If I'd known the derailleur came with the adjusting template I wouldn't have bought one,
and drivetrain seemed very rough, I'd mis-routed the chain through the derailleur cage
a late night fuck up sorted out this morning.
