My Mountain
2012 Santa Cruz Blur TR, Pivot Mach 4, Trek Fuel EX9 & Superfly 100 AL Demo Bikes available to test ride @ My Mountain

While many of our local customers who have walked through our East Brunswick shop will know, we hold a range of in store demo mountain bikes that are available to folks wanting to try out the latest technology out on the dirt. However, we understand that there are many of you out there that aren't aware of our full demo lineup, so we thought we would bring it to your attention via Rotorburn to let you know exactly what we've got as well as what's involved in the process of buying a bike from My Mountain.

From our website:

"At My Mountain we always strive to get our customers onto bikes that will help their riding. We want your bike to be fit for the purpose, suit your riding style and lastly fit your height and build. When all these factors are weighed up and taken into account you end up on a bike that feels like an extension of your body and not some crazy bucking bronco that you hold onto with dear life. After discussing all your needs as described above we can usually narrow down the choices to two or three bikes that will work well for you. After all the consultation and measure up etc, it can still be a hard decision. And lets face it; you're handing over a lot of cash for a bike you haven't tested in anger. For this reason......read more about our Demo Program here".

Santa Cruz
The most recent addition to our in store demo lineup, the Santa Cruz Blur TR also happens to be one of the latest bikes from the Santa Cruz camp and is quickly becoming a favourite amongst the My Mountain staff and local riders. With 5" of VPP2 suspension and a full carbon frame that comes in at 2.2kg with it's Fox Kashima RP-23 rear shock, the Blur TR is a trail ripper that provides some serious fun-factor with its slack head angle, low BB height and short chainstays.
We have both Medium and Large sizes available, which are built up with Fox Kashima RLC forks and a Shimano XT level SPX build kit. For more info, check out the Santa Cruz Blur TR Carbon here, or our blog post here.
Also worth noting with Santa Cruz, is that we have access to a range of demo bikes for special inquiries; bikes such as the Carbon Nomad, 5" Nickel and 29er Tallboy are all available to My Mountain customers, so please inquire in store to book your ride.

Trek
Trek Bikes have always been a big part of the My Mountain demo lineup, and each year we have seen our range grow and progress towards the higher end models that we're selling more of these days. This season, we are addressing the trail bike market with the Fuel EX9, the big-hitting crowd with the Slash 8 and the 29er folks with the Superfly 100 AL Pro.
The EX9 is one of our most popular dual suspension bikes and for very good reason; it is balanced, confident and very efficient to ride. With 120mm of Fox DRCV suspension front & rear and a frame that is packed with technology, the EX9 is simply one of the highest performing trail bikes available for its price. For more info, check out the Trek Fuel EX9 here.

Replacing the venerable Scratch Air, the 2012 Trek Slash is a beast of a bike with 160mm of travel that is designed to take on some seriously technical trails. Like all modern Trek full suspension bikes, the Slash gets the ABP rear suspension design, Fox DRCV equipped fork & shock and performance enhancing features like the tapered E2 head tube and 142mm rear thru-axle. If you love riding black diamond trails, but you need to ride to the top, this is your machine. For more details, check out the Trek Slash 8 here.

And lastly, but certainly not leastly, the 2012 Superfly 100 AL is possibly one of the fastest demo bikes we have going. While some may still debate the virtues of the 29er wheel, there is no denying that for riding XC singletrack fast, 29er bikes are the best tool available. The Superfly 100 utilises 4" of travel front & rear and uses patented G2 geometry with a custom fork offset for super precise handling that doesn't give up descending stability like many sharp-angled 29ers can. If you haven't ridden a big-wheeled bike before, or you're interested in comparing the Trek 29er design against other brands bikes, you really owe it to yourself to get some saddle time on the bike that is quickly becoming the go-to option for XC and Endurance racing. Read more about the Trek Superfly 100 AL Pro here, and on our blog post here.

Pivot
While high-end brand Pivot Cycles are still a fairly small niche compared to the mass-produced bikes that dominate the Australian market, we believe the quality DW-link suspension, forward-thinking geometry and meticulously engineered frames give them a significant ride advantage over other bikes. It's why we carry the Mach 4 as part of our demo range, so that folks who are intrigued by the suspension design used on bikes like the Mach 4, Mach 429 and Mach 5.7, can see what all the fuss is about. We carry both a Small (16.7") and a Large (20") Mach 4 built up with Fox Suspension and an XT build kit, which are just gagging to get out onto the dirt.
Interested in the Pivots? Check out the Pivot Mach 4 here and our blog post here.

While the demo program is an important part of what we do @ My Mountain, there are many other facets that we believe are important in getting you onto the best bike for your riding style and needs. Building bikes with high attention to detail, sizing up riders correctly to the right size frame, and then bike fitting and setting up suspension are hugely important in allowing you to get the most out of your high end mountain bike. Without one of these components, you may as well be riding a K-Mart bike; we believe they're that important. And just for fun, here's a sweet video of the 2012 Trek Fuel EX in action:

My Mountain
Hi there,

All of the demo bikes in our 2012 lineup are dual suspension, no hardtails unfortunately.
Last season we actually ran with the Trek Paragon hardtail as our 29er demo bike, with a Medium and a Large available for test riding. However, with the way the market has been heading, we found we were getting A LOT of enquiries about 29er dual suspension bikes and folks wanting to specifically try out the Superfly 100.

As we're a smaller specialist shop and don't quite have the budget that a lot of the bigger stores have, we figured we would throw our eggs into the Superfly 100 basket rather than stocking the 29er hardtail demo bikes for this year. The cool thing about the Superfly 100 is that it shares very similar geometry to the hardtail Superfly, so if you're keen to get a feel for the Trek G2 geometry and the handling of a 29er, test riding the 100 will actually give you a really good indication of how the equivalent hardtail is going to feel.

However, if you're really gunning to get a test ride on a higher end option like the carbon Superfly hardtail, we do have access to the Trek-owned demo fleet so could potentially arrange for you to try one of those out. The difference being is that they're not in the shop 24/7, so it may be a bit of a wait for us to get one in store.

Hope that helps,
Wil
