the sram x0 dh rear derailleur, is said to be compatible with max 28 cog in the cassette.

i am thinking to put a 32 max rear cog, has anyone tried it? does it work or will i waste my money?

thank you!!

You are talking a short cage X0, yeah?

I wouldn't be doing it, assuming you are mounting these parts on a DH bike. 32 T cassettes are for going uphill, not down hill, even if you could get it to work, you will have a very loose chain in top gear, making lots of noise and increasing the risk of dropping the chain. Furthermore, you have a wider spread of ratios, meaning a harsher gear change under power than with closer spaced ratios.

Edit: Just noticed your name, maybe you do ride uphill...... In which case get yourself that 32t cassette, and a medium cage X0. We've run them in DH, there's no performance difference vs the short cage.

it is the dh derailleur...the the short cage x0 officially will work with a 36t cassette. the dh with 28t.

the chain will be fine with 32t, i now have 26t, so i will only add about 2-3 links...no problemo!!!

i want to pedal my bike uphill...maybe even race enduro with it!!!
