For those like me that couldn't see the picture in Firefox, you'll need to open it in IE as it is an emf file.

Says theres more single-track as well.
Also some XTR goodness up for grabs.

The Shimano pit stop will be providing one lucky competitor with an XTR group set (including shoes, peddles, wheels and front and rear derailleur etc) valued at over $4,600!

That would go nicely on the single-speed

But really, you have to ask, why would you? ;) Unless you were going to use it for racing BMX as well. :D

Any other nutbags riding in the SS category??
Also can anyone give me any feedback as to the terrain (rocky, sandy, loose, hardpack)???

I'll be riding, most probably singlespeeding as well. It's all pretty typical terrain for that area, rocky ledges, sandy, loose, dirt road, big hills etc etc.

Cool
Sounds like I will have a few other nutbags to meet up with then.
You should spot me easily.
I will be the one on the orange Ventana El Commandante 29er.
So is most of the course SS'able??
Or will I be planning on some walking??

There is a couple of hills that most people end up walking, but I guess you can always run 22:32 and ride everything;)

Already ride 32/20 on the 29er which is basically the equivalent of 34/20 on a 26".
Rode up Mt Nebo in Brisbane on the weekend on it which included 1274m of ascent over 52km. I only had to walk 1 section because I got caught in a rut and then it was too steep to get back on.
