euro news: cadel to leave silence-lotto

As reported on cyclingnews.com. Any guesses as to where he will go? It's obvious that aspects of his last few years at Lotto have been pretty toxic, so it'll be interesting to see if Cadel can find a more harmonious atmosphere somewhere else...

It will be interesting to see how he works in a team better suited to his needs. Ive always had the feeling that he didn't have a good relationship with his team mates at Silence-Lotto. Will be interesting to see if he fits in anywhere else.

Completely forgot about them (Hincapie, Ballan etc), should be an interesting year.

seems a bit of a strange choice on the surface. Pro continental squad so will have to rely on wild caard selection for all the big races. There are some decent riders on the team but their best years are behind them (so who will they get in to replace those riders in 2011? Will they have the budget to get good riders?)

Vaughters indicated that he would have liked to discuss a contract at Garmin if he had known Cadel was on the market. Couple of other ProTour teams were interested in talking to him.

Hopefully Cadel has had plenty of time to get comfortable with the idea that the BMC team will be a good fit for him personally and support his goals. But those other questions are a little worrying

on the same token though lower tier team would be more likely to back cadel 100% as they need him to get invited to the big races. Garmin would have been a great team for him also.
