I've corrected your post bro.A 29er will be an easier transition from his roady but a 26" will force him to be a better rider and ultimately allow him to have a bit more fun.
Horses for courses, though. If he's a wee man he'll get the 26"
and call past the family law courts to pick up a divorce application on the way and everyone is happierJust get him to buy one of each:
* a 26er hardtail
* a 26er duallie
* a 29er hardtail
* a 29er duallie
then everyone will be happy (except possibly his bank balance )
No, it's not.It's nonsense that 26 will force one to develop better skills.
Trail riding skills are not specific to rim diameter.No, it's not.
.. and all the arguments for a 29er make a 36er a natural choice. I'm sure the Kaos guys would love to make up one more.All the arguements for 26 inch wheels would make a 20 inch bike the natural choice.
Why - because they have the same rim diameter? That doesn't make sense. A 700c with 23c (road) tyres is closer in rolling diameter to a 26" MTB with 2.1" tyres than a 29".A 29er will be an easier transition from his roady
Not sure. Of the roadies I know that have made the transition the larger proportion of them have gravitated towards 29ers as they seem to prefer them. And Cannondales for some reason.Why - because they have the same rim diameter? That doesn't make sense. A 700c with 23c (road) tyres is closer in rolling diameter to a 26" MTB with 2.1" tyres than a 29".
