reports of police stripping their uniforms down and joining the protesters. presidents house also reported as surrounded.

new concern is the loss of the antiquities museum - that being destroyed would be a loss words cannot express. so far it's been left alone.

Farrk, he will be hung by the nearest lamp post.
or executed on live TV modern-warfare style.

but the crowds aren't calling for his death or anything, they simply want him to step down from his position. there was one of the muslim brotherhood leaders being very deliberate/specific that they are a peaceful people, so perhaps it won't happen.

american ambassador on being GRILLED by a journalist. implied that the U.S is in support of both their U.S principles and whoever is an ally in egypt.

in other words, if they can't influence the new government in the way they want then they aren't in support of them. journalist mentioned earlier that the US gives about 1.5 billion in military aid to egypt each year, so i'd say they're able to bend the current government to their whim.

UN secretary general on saying that the leaders of any country have a responsibility/mandate to listen to the people of their country and act in their interest.

not always the same thing.

british sec. said "legitimate grievances"

french foreign minister said "support free speech"

german defense minister said "there is a risk of an infection-like spread of demonstration in the middle-east".

huge concern that the fire in the national democratic party HQ will spread to the antiquities museum - fire trucks have finally arrived, sirens near said building.

crowds have been encouraged to disperse - only stragglers left in cairo. atmosphere has changed dramatically.

intense gunfights reported at the ministry of foreign affairs.

omg al-jazeera are REALLY getting stuck into the U.S.

"in the past, the U.S hasn't supported democratically elected governments it didn't like".

there was a very nice soundclip of obama saying "you must maintain your leadership through consent, not force. without the support of your people, an election does not make a true democracy".

well done mr president :)

u.s ambassador being torn apart by the journalist:

"what happens if mubarak goes?"

"well i think you're rushing to conclusions"

meanwhile half of egypt is on fire in the side by side shot. dear god i can see why these people are hated.

one of the issues I see happening here if Egypt goes full revolution and ousts the government, what happens to the Suez canal? The Egyptians control it completely. Its one of their major money makers. It controls all trade between europe and asia.

If they lock it down, it affects everything.

This leads to the posibility of American and/or Allied UN forces attempting to take control of the city of Suez, the ports and the canal. Foriegn troops in this powder keg would be a horrific spark.
