G2 geometry fork on Karate Monkey

Got asked an odd question today and didn't quite know the answer. A mate is looking at a 2nd hand 100mm RLC fork for his Karate Monkey.

I know the G2 geo is developed for the Fisher 29ers - how does that translate when fitted to a non-Fisher frame?

Been there, done that

This is exactly what I run on my Karate Monkey now since I cracked the frame on my old Gary Fisher.
The handling is very different to the 80mm rigid. It tends to push the front end into a feeling of understeer before cutting back in very quickly.
I have a 2nd Karate Monkey with the 80mm rigid as well and it does not have the same initial understeering feeling to it.
The biggest difference is more to do with the change in ride height. That extra 20mm makes a huge difference.
I only did the change as the G2 Fox RLC was all I had available at the time and I don`t feel the need to change it.
Hope that helps.
Cheers.
