Giant XTC SL, Why 27.5?

Aside from sponsored riders, how many people do you see riding high end Anthem 27.5's?

A buddie I ride with has the new anthem 0, a couple guys have sworks epics and some treks thrown in . Old mate with the anthem is faster than his xtc 0 SL 29er everywhere. He doesn't hang around either.
