hayes hydro brake lever problems

i was wondering i f n e one had problems with the brake lever piston popping out when they get jarred a little on landings????
this is on the hyrdo's that came standard on the 03 stinky. couldn't be bothered remembering wot they r called. :roll:
just wanting to know if its a common problem, if it can be fixxed easily or is a warrenty job.

It is reasonably common and happens when the retaining washer that holds your push-rod into the mastercyinder assemblly floggs out. You can fix it by pulling your lever to bits and replacing the washer. The manual is on the hayes website, but you could always take it to a shop if you are not sure.

my stinky is getting the lever fixed at the moment, part of the piston seal had broken away and got pushed into the line , blocking it .

also, the line was kinked where its cable tied to the seat tube. they wouldnt warranty that saying it wasnt considered to be defective due too workmanship (by hayes).
