help with choosing chain guide

Hi everyone,

i have spent the last few months systematically shaping my big chain ring into a square, now i am very pleased with the result and would like to get rid of the front derailer and run one ring (32t) up front with a bash guard. I dont have frame mount thingies for the chain device.

I have been looking at different types online and am now very confused, E.13 alone have 17 different products, that as far as i can see do the same thing.

I have a Craftworks FRX http://www.craftworkscycles.com/page.php?section=17

running a truvativ stylo 3.3 crankset http://www.sram.com/truvativ/products/truvativ-stylo-oct-33-crankset

I dont WANT to spend $200, but im prepared to pay for a bit that will work the goodest (poor man buys twice).

Any recomendations?

While "buy cheap, buy twice" does apply to a number of products, we've gone through a significant amount of engineering and riding time to make sure that our LS1+ and SS+ make the grade for "budget" chainguides.

The SS+ is also an option and it uses a traditional crank mounted bashguard. Both guides should fit up to your frame without issue, as there isn't anything to interfere with most elevated chainstay single pivot frames. Both guides will also fit up with the adapter included in the ISCG-05 version of the guide (this goes for all of our single ring guides as well).

Other older gen guides would be the SS-FS/SS-HT, STS, SRS, 32 Special, etc. Your Stylos may need the granny ring tabs milled down 2-3mm for backplate clearance...if done professionally (everyone has a machine shop friend right?) you can use spacers to still have the option of running a granny ring.
