How do you work out the spring weight

I have looked everywhere can anyone help i just got myself a Van R rear shock and the spring i have is a 450 x 2.8 i have found the ride to hard and i have very little control of the rear end. I need to know what spring weight i need, i weigh 45 kg.
Can anyone help?

on the left side there is a menu select
mtb spring-rate calculator

Fill out the info and tada you should have your spring rate (hopefully)
