Hub service ideas..?

I'm trying to diagnose play in my rear hub (12x150). Pretty sure it's because there is play between the inside bearing race and the axle on the non drive side.

Anyways... I'm struggling to work out how to remove the axle and bearings from the hub so looking for help. It's quite an old hub and I think it's a formula but not 100% sure. I've got the caps off and removed the freewheel but I can't work out how to get the axle and bearings out. I assume there is some sort of press tool required??? Photos below show where I've got too. I hit it with a hammer and it didn't budge.

Any advice appreciated. Especially on home made bodging tools.

On further inspection, looks like most of the play is coming from the thru bolt moving within the axle.

Do thru bolts wear, or is it more likely to be the axle that is worn?

Any ideas or experience welcome pls.
