Nah - there's way too much similarity between different 'sets' of distances covered. They're all clustered around the 50, 55, and 60km marks. There's no way that's a garmin/gps bug - out by up to 10% en masse doesn't seem right. I don't think you can tell if the maps are exactly the same - there's not enough detail i don't think. Even Strava isn't matching up the riders properly - it thinks they're different rides/courses (for e.g. there were only three other riders apart from me apparently)

whilst marking up the track is undeniably a lot of work, it aint rocket surgery and its pretty critical to the integrity of the event.
I guess this means I coulda been a contender, but I guess I'll never know.

yeah, I saw police hauling away one person as well - it was definitely an issue for the race. I still think the signposting played a part as well though.. it was always going to be a risk running three different distance events across the same trails, sometimes using the same trail in both directions
