Nah - there's way too much similarity between different 'sets' of distances covered. They're all clustered around the 50, 55, and 60km marks. There's no way that's a garmin/gps bug - out by up to 10% en masse doesn't seem right. I don't think you can tell if the maps are exactly the same - there's not enough detail i don't think. Even Strava isn't matching up the riders properly - it thinks they're different rides/courses (for e.g. there were only three other riders apart from me apparently)I think that this event is better than some and worse than others, but as long as I had fun and didn't crash I am happy. I will be back again for this event for sure, as for the Strava distance variation if you look at the actual maps they are exactly the same soooo I would think its the Garmin/whatevers that are being used.
