Hydration options.

Hey there everyone.

Just wanted some opinions on what my options are as far as hydration on long rides(90km+)

I was planning on riding from Point Cook to the You Yangs and riding some of the trails and then riding home again. I have read that you can get water at the You Yangs, but is it safe to drink?

If so, all good. If not, then what do people do for long rides in the bush?

Thanks.

I got a 3l camelbak which lasts me awhile. And if i think i need more water i just put a water bottle on my bike.

Last time I checked you cannot get water at the You Yangs, but there are places on the way where you can.

For longer rides such as you're considering, hydration bag is the way to go. If it's warm, consider some kind of electrolyte mix to help keep cramps away.

Depends on temp and speed and your sweat rate

3l plus bottle would get me that distance at 20c but id be in big trouble if it was high 20's

Correct there is no drinking water at the you Yangs. You would find some in little river on the way back through.

I however am very normal. Trust me.
I always fill up in the MTB carpark with the tank just next to the BBQ.

Otherwise there is a tap at the servo/general/GP store on little river rd if thats the way you ride in.
