Do you mean the Lower escarpment fire trail?
If I would not call it an easy ride as there is a lot of climbing, but if you take your time it is not too bad. I use to walk up a few of the climbs when I first started riding there.
You can start on the Lower Escarpment fire trail at either Corrimal Hawthorn Street (Follow the road past the gate until you come to a fire trail past the old mine) or at Bulli Pass just before the hairpin corner (North bound).
From there you can make you way up the Rixon Pass fire trail and up to Brokers nose where there is a fire trail network.
If you want to start up the top you can also start at MT Ousley Road where the trucks often stop (South bound side) and follow the path to Brokers nose (Zoom in on google maps), but this is not an easy ride.
