its an 09 frame,09 dhx 5, i'm about 95-100 kg, 400lb spring 150psi in boost and 2/3 bottom out, its an awesome balltearin ride but seems to bottom out relatively easy, tried heavier springs but ends up to harsh

Have you tried running more bottom out resistance?
Assuming you have the right spring weight for correct sag id pump the boost valve up to 190-200 psi and crank up the bottom out adjust. That should stop you bottoming out on the big stuff and still maintain some ride quality very thing else.

That morewood has a falling rate suspension meaning as it moves through its travel the leverage from the rear axle increases, giving it more and more mechanical advantage to compress the shock with. This is the reason why putting on heavier springs makes it harsh at the start and does little to stop the bottoming out. If you don`t mind spending some money you might be best looking into getting a elka or custom valved shock that is tuned for the frame.

i thought that these frames were essential a linear rate, probably answers a few questions,
i dont think i can stretch the budget to a new shock but im prepared to get the shim stack altered to suit the frame, any good suggestions welcomed.

Speak to Ken at Tekin suspension. He's a fox specialist. Owns a single pivot bike too

Get it Tekin tuned for sure.
Vivid is a great standard shock, but a custom tuned dhx5 is in another ball park all together.

You can always go for a Elka, its cutsom tuned for the bike and they retail for around $500, so not too much more then a shock tune really. I got one about a month back and it runs really nicely, having high speed and low speed adjustments makes such a difference (I too was running a DHX).
