Does the lever pull to the bars before it engages, or does it just seem lacking in power? First, you have air in the lines, Take it to the LBS for a bleed. Second, the pads have glazed over or been contaminated, you need new pads

50% travel, do you mean travel to the bars? If they are engageing late when you rnearly to the bars then you need a bleed.Check your pads for wear also and if there glaszed.If you have a fair bit of pad left and they are glazing then ruub them over with rough sand paper
