Hi Everyone
BBQ Lunch
The first section of the Kalamunda Circuit Mountain Bike trail is close to completion and we are having a BBQ to thank all you hard working volunteers.
The BBQ will be at 1pm at the Calamunda Camel Farm on the 29th of May. We will be riding the trail in the morning and having a BBQ lunch so if you have volunteered and contributed to the construction of this fantastic facility please come along and help us celebrate.
Please advise us if you are coming along so we have numbers for catering.
Next Step for trail construction
The next step of the project is to cross Asher Road and head for the Dell Picnic Area. This is approximately 10 kilometres and will provide us with some fantastic riding. There may be 1 kilometre of fire road and the rest will be new single track.
Car Park Closure
DEC want to close the car park that is on the bend near where the little ovens crosses Mundaring Weir Road near the Scorpion. The Car Park is in Disease risk area and there will be gates installed soon. DEC have requested that we park at Farrell Grove or the Dell.
The area east of Lockwood Road and South of Mundaring Weir Road is a Disease Risk Area for die back and we shouldn’t be riding in there. The Department of Environment and Conservation have been aware of the trails there for years and may close the area in the future.
Please respect their directions and requests.
Volunteers
With the possibility of trails being closed it just makes it more important to get the Kalamunda Circuit built. The potential for more trails in this area is fantastic and we have the support of The Department of Environment and Conservation, The Department of Sport and Recreation and Lottery West. The more volunteers we have the more trails we can build for all of us to ride. So if you have some spare time come along and help build this fantastic community project.
