You're a cynic.NCR600 said:That IS being a good businessman, apparently.
Like drugs in sport, you can't compete against it, so you do it yourself and win, or come further down the field, and bask in your own integrity.
Unlike drugs in sport, where people do get caught, the most succesful businessmen have the money and power to get away with it.
Call me a cynic if you like.
And like I said, the Packer family were filthy rich to begin with, Kerry didn't make the fortune, he multiplied it. It's not like he started out with nothing.
Kerry did not start out with nothing, that's true, but he grew the family fortune MASSIVELY, by taking calculated risks. He took risks, ones he was confident in, and won hugely. but I don't believe he shafted people (except that idiot Alan Bond - hehe, sucker). For some things he was just in the right place at the right time, but especially he was prepared to put his money where his mouth was, and capitalised on that.
Good on him, as far as I'm concerned.
Yes, you have the right to present pluses and minuses, but I reckon you are skewing them WAY over your side.Dumbellna wrote: * Its not jealous that drives me, but sickness at the way people think rich and famous people are beyond repoach in death. All people are human in that they have pluses and minuses, we have a tendency to see only pluses and ignore the minuses. I am presenting the minuses and for that I am criticised (which is fair enough, I have no problem with that).
