I was going to say the 2012 model would have crap geo but it really doesn't, 450mm reach on a large frame and a 68 degree HA would be fun as an XC/trail bike.

I much prefer the newer one because I hate bikes without dropped top tubes and you can run a 1.5deg angled headset for a more exciting HA thanks to the 1.5" tapered head tube.

it is very hard to specifically find a 2012 but there was one in my local shop as a crash replacement but the guy didn't want it so they were selling it.but it sold. Now days it is mostly second-hand luck and even then you would have to be very lucky.
