I tacked this onto my custom dh pants thread, but theyre pretty cool so I thought they deserved their own post

heres some light weight elbows jeannie whipped up the other day

oh yeah theyre 1000 denier nylon outer with high rebound foam rubber padding ,and rubber backed elastic for non slip

They look good and i think they'd stop that nasty-ass gravel rash. Duno about big impacts tho. Hmm... Quite the cool.

yeah theyre more along the lines of the neoprene style protection some companies are doing, however the foam rubber padding can take a bit of a whack, its the same stuff they use in expantion joints on concrete.

i think it could benefit from some plastic shells on the elbow. these protect against sharp rocks, and absorb harsh impacts. id think that your guards would be good for gravel rash, but i think large sharp rocks (think rock gardens) will go straight thru the guards.
