I'm looking at new rims.
i have found a few like mtx 33 they weigh 700+ grams
and the funn decender is 640 grams.
are there any lighter rims that are as strong?
cheers

Mavic 721's are light

spank subrosa rims are light... but I'm not sure how strong they are

There are lighter rims. But i doubt they will be as strong. The lighter you get the weaker you get (generally).

1) Forgetting about colour, buy a wheelset that will suit your purposes.

2) Get them painted.

It's not that expensive/hard, and you will have totally unique fulleh sikuleh whyte rimz bruhz.

Sun Equalizer 31 or even the 29. Also The Funn Descender is made by Sun and hugely similar to the MTX rims.

Hey
I run Funn XLRARTERS, they're white and weight only 470 grams each!
I run the on my DJ/Street bike evn though they are supposed to be 4X rims but they hold up fine.
For strength I wouldn't run them for DH or FR or if you're a real hack rider but otherwise they're fine.

could they be strong enough for downhill dirt jumps and street?
DJ and street, yeah they're fine.
With DH, I wouldn't expect them to hold up too well.
On nice flowy tracks (even some more choppy ones) they'd be ok but anything with big rock gardens and/or bit hits I wouldn't use em.
