Any ideas direction on the best night riding lights set-up? Happy to spend between $300 - $500ish as i dont see the point in cutting costs on this one. The bikes a Norko Fluid LT a lot of fun in the light but its been beggin me to take it out at night.

thanks for the assist.
Yeah seriously you won't regret getting lights - it is a good move. They open up every hour of the day to riding possibilities... I run mine for about 2-3 hours a couple of nights during the week - golden...

I am actually looking at putting some lights in a bike shop and i've tried to get ay ups cos i know they are the best but they won't sell to me. I even offered to buy 100 sets but no bulk discounts.... :( What's the next best???:D

Haggle hard ... (I was working on 30% with a group of 12 units ... plus 10% on everything else already on sale) ... but the group wanted something Aussie and known ... so we went yups instead.

I reckon if your going to lay down an order of 100 ... you could get much much better then they were offering me.

In saying all that ... can't go past the light weight, versatile kit and battery life of the yups

Ayups are the go, run em on both roadies and MTB's. drivers hate em, they scare the bejebus out of possums and pedestians.

Though you will need to understand algebra, own a multimeter and be prepared to wilfully damage peoples vehicles with rocks while commuting with a horizontal flag on your bike...

How do niteriders compare in the scheme of things?
Probably better in overall output and quality if you are being picky BUT for 400 odd clams the ayups will have you burning the trails/footpaths/roads up for 12 hours with a helmet AND bar mount.

2-light setup for about $100.

I was skeptical about these until I borrowed some for the Kona 24 hour last year. They absolutely kick ass. With one on the bars and one on my lid I was frying possums at 50 paces. They gave NOTHING away to the (far more expensive) bike-specific kits I saw. I immediately rushed out and bought my own.

A nice thing (in my opinion) is that there is no big ass battery pack. The down side is that you have to change batteries every 1.5 hours (on full beam) but the batteries are small, light, cheap and rechargeable.

Don't know why more people don't use these, I think they're great.
