Little Things You Love

So I always surf the classifieds for the odd bargain, be it marketplace, here or gumtree etc when I came across a bit of a cheap one. It was a Breezer hard tail with a steel frame, which ticks boxes for me, so I click on it to find it was missing the front wheel, mmmm….. suss?
So I text him to suss it out, 10 minutes later my phone rings, “Hey mate I’m the guy with bike, oh yeah they stole my wheel, frame size? I don’t know it’s fits me fine” by this stage bells are ringing it’s definitely suss I’m like okay I’ll think about it mate, “Mate it’s worth a bit and I’m selling it cheap, so don’t wait too long”
So I do a a bit of a trawl through Facebook and I found this ad from two years ago which is the bike (the steerer extender was the give away), so I sent her a PM to see if she recovered it and I was just judging this bloke from an ad and a phone call.
She messaged later saying it was never recovered, so I sent her the details and she couldn’t believe it that was their bike.
This all happened earlier this week, today I received a message saying that they gave all the information to police who went paid this fine gentleman and recovered their bicycle.

Someone uploaded to an Bonneville salt racing forum i also frequent. I saw it was 13 years old. Still cool though.
The best thing about this was M'lady looking at me and asking "what the fuck are you watching?" and me responding "would you believe it's a mobile phone ad from the Noughties?". And neither of us were convinced!

LTIL = kicked off a long term goal of walking the Great North Walk (Sydney to Newcastle).

I have done various parts of the walk over the years and have always wanted to do more stages but without anyone else keen it was hard to commit. Then my son mentioned he wanted to do it, so on Sunday off we went to the obelisk near Circular Quay and headed off to North Ryde.

That first leg was epic, Sydney harbour foreshore and its surrounds really are special.
