Lusty Industries and Santa Cruz

G'day All,

I have to replace the pivot axle/bearings on my Heckler.

Getting a little frustrated with Santa Cruz and Lusty who have not bothered to respond to my emails seeking assistance in identifying the year/model of my heckler and the appropriate part number for the replacement axle/pivot propack. I provided the serial and am awaiting a reply.

Bought the bike second hand - so not exactly sure of its age.

Anyone have an 'insider' with SC or Lusty that I may get a response from?

cheers,

Iain

How old is it? Here is a bunch of them to help ID it.

You can get frame pivot bearing for the early gen Heckler from almost any bearing shop. I have the SKU somewhere if you need it - I'll find it if you have a old school model.

You're high, Lusty is very much a Santa Cruz distributor.
Must have misheard. My lbs is an SC dealer, and we were talking about the distro after Hammo lost it. Thought he said that it had quickly moved on from Lusty. My bad.
I can ask him if he has a good contact there if you get no love.

Pop a picture of the Heckler up, we should be able to narrow down its age (2005 Heckler rider here:israel:)

They last for forever for general faffing around trails.
I still haven't had the need to replace my pivot bearing either and mine is older than yours
I competed in my first ever XC race on Sunday with the Heckler. I put lighter wheels and tyres, smaller brakes and smaller pedals on it. The main failure point being rider fitness :twitch:

Shoot Neezy (Hammo HQ) an email. He is usually pretty quick to respond and may well have some parts laying around still that he would rather convert to cash.

Please help my oc'd and fix that qr at the front. Getting a stick in there will not be a pleasant experience.... Well done on the race btw!

Just to help with that OCD...it is a maxle, not a qr. Though it may also be known as a Maxle QR as it is not the DH hex bolt version.

As mentioned it is a maxle, and the picture is kind of creating an illusion. It actually is pointing slightly backwards...

Rider fitness is poor due to a car hitting me on the bike track while commuting to work. I was literally only on the bike last Monday...

Sorry to hear that, hope you are recovering.

Commuting can be a roll of the dice. I commuted from near Parramatta to Pyrmont return a job or two ago. I loved it to be honest but was damn paranoid and always looking for low traffic routes.
