I am considering making a small bag to carry a multi-tool, levers, CO2 pump and potentially a tube (or a combo of these) and I am after some opinions on the product. No images as yet unfortunately.

It will be designed to fit into a jersey pocket, but I believe from a mountain bikers perspective, the value in having a single small bag is that you have one bag that can be put in a jersey pocket for quick rides and transferred easily to a backpack for longer rides. Similarly, it is easier than a saddle bag to transfer between bikes.

Please vote in the poll and feel free to leave any constructive comments!

Cheers

Yeah, for me I have a small dedicated backpack with a hydration bladder in it. My tools, pump and spare live in this bag and I just chuck my keys in it when I go out.

Not saying your idea won't work for others but for me the concept is redundant.

not my cuppa but all the best with it. If it adds a few grams, your target audience mightn't be keen.

Don't want to rain on your parade. But it's already a common item:

These guys do some made in australia: http://www.bogear.com.au/packs/blue-tool-roll

These guys do nice bags with nice tools in them: http://www.unior-bike.com/?doc=10790&cat=779909

Or hit up etsy for some hipster leather rolls, like this: https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/154869486/leather-bicycle-tool-roll

I used to have a leather roll, but it fell apart. I use a Thomson seat clamp bag now. Works awesome, great for transferring between bikes etc as you say. But the idea isn't original, sorry

Dain,

I'd actually consider using something like this. I carry a camelbak on longer rides and on technical rides where I want a little bit of back protection. Most of my riding is done with just my gear in a seat bag which I don't really like, or in my jersey pocket. And yes I do switch my tools from one to the other.
