my mate got the shock earlier this year and has just noticed there a small maybe 10ml loose section in the first part of the stroke where just the spring takes the wieght then the oil kicks in is there somthing wrong with it or is that just sag. the spring is done up tight to. please help

Sounds like it needs a bleed. Even though its new it may not have been done correctly in the factory. Group sport may fix it for you. But if you get stuck, I just serviced mine and it was quite easy. I work in a shop, so we can do it through there.
