hallo!

i have a 2012 mavic deemax ultimate wheelset.

in the back wheel, you can adjust with a special wrench the bearing.

what is the function of this?

i notice that when i go full clockwise and I spin the rear wheel, it seems a bit draggy, and it stops relatively fast.

when i go full anticlockwise, it spins for a long time but there seems to be a bit of play laterally.

You can just use a circlip tool, or 2 allen keys to adjust it. Mine always comes loose so just a heads up, check it after every run...

Just adjust it in the middle. Take the wheel out of the bike and feel the axle. Adjust it until you can't feel the axle shake around but before it gets too draggy. A slight amount of drag is usually okay, but just very slight.
