Melb - bike route

Trying to work out a route to my mates place in dandenong, I'll be coming from the city/fitzroy. He is in the little junction where eastlink meets the monash meets police road.

I know there are paths along the freeways, but unsure of how far they go, and how many in between bits I have to find my way around. Googlemaps isnt helping (is there another site that will have the info I need>?)

nearmaps is good also. My hubby rides from Selby to the city and worked out the entire route via nearmaps.

Quickest and safest on road route would be straight up Johnston, onto studley park road, up cotham rd, down Burke rd to cantebury rd, then straight up cantebury to the eastlink. Easy in the mornings, but wouldnt do it in 5pm peak hour

I'm 99% sure the bike paths run all the way to Dandy next to Eastlink.
