Mixed Brake Pads (resin/metallic)

So this morning I was procrastinating pretty hard on youtube and came across this vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lb6IC1_6A10 by Alex Chamberlin. In this vid one of his pro tips (Hack 3, 1:42min) is to run a mixture of metallic and resin brake pads in each caliper to get good power and modulation.

I can see that you would burn through the resin pad way quicker and possibly get uneven wear on your rotor but found it an interesting idea. I was just wondering if anyone has tried this before with good results, or would or the extra maintenance outweigh the benefits?

The pros probably change brake pads before every race... so I wouldn't say all pro tips apply to us.

Just run metallic in front and organic out back; best of both worlds.

If you want power and modulation just run metal; they are better than resin on both aspects. Resin give more initial bite, especially when cold, at the expense of modulation.
