MOUNT BEAUTY DOWNHILL RIDE WEEKEND: DETAILS
Alpine Gravity Shuttles are running a two day ride day on TWO of AUSTRALIAS BEST DOWNHILL TRACKS at Mount Beauty. This will strictly be a PRE BOOKING ONLY affair and unless you send a text with all your details, your are NOT booked in. Numbers for this one WILL BE LIMITED. Prices are the usual $40 for either day or $70 for two for MTBA members. Day licences will be available at five bucks per person which covers both days. Pit area and pick up point is located on Bogong High Plains road Mount Beauty. rego from 8.30am-runs from 9am-4pm.
We have also hooked up some pretty good deals with some local businesses for the weekend: Breakfast will be available from MOUNT BEAUTY BAKERY, the one between kiewa/hollands streets from 7am each morning, and if you ask for the "DOWNHILL DEAL" youll get the choice of a bacon/egg roll and coffee, or toastie/croisant and coffee for TEN BUCKS. Bargain. the number there is 03 5754 4870.
We'll have food/drinks/bbq going all day in the pits at cheap prices with everything you need aswell.
Rocky Valley Bikes in Mount Beauty will also be at the event with a stand selling any bits you might need/destroy over the weekend and will do you a good deal on any bits you need. Brian & Glenyse own the shop which is on the Kiewa Valley Hwy as you drive into Mount beauty. If you need bike bits before the event their number is 03 5754 1118 and they are super friendly and will be happy to help you out.
Most downhillers like BEER, which is handy, because Pete at SWEETWATER BREWERY has hooked us up with a DOWNHILL BEER AND DINNER DEAL which after a day of runs will be awesome. Basically you can grab a pot and a choice of food for TEN BUCKS and he'll be open untill around seven pm both nights to fill you with dinner and beer after your riding. Sweetwater Brewery is at 211 Kiewa Valley Hwy Tawonga South and the number is 03 5754 1881.
If you need accomodation for the event, speak to a fellow downhiller and call Mat at Mount Beauty Holiday Centre 222/226 Kiewa Valley Highway, Tawonga South VIC 3698 (03) 5754 4396 who can sort you out with a camp spot or flash accom to suit your needs.
If you are under 18 and are planning on showing up without your parents/gaurdian send me your email address and ill email you the waiver forms for them to fill out PRIOR to the event. YOU CANNOT RIDE WITHOUT THESE. If you want to book the "pick up & drop off service" from albury/wodonga to the event YOU NEED TO BOOK PRIOR TO THE EVENT.
