MTB Cruise 100 - 25 February 2012

The MTB Cruise 100 is Rocky Trail's 100km event. We scoped out a the longest possible loop at Mt Stromlo and arrive at approx. 33km. Which means there will be the option to ride 1,2,3 or 5 laps making it: 33km, 66km, 100km or 100miles.
The 100miler start is at 5am to give you the sunrise lap and let's you finish with the crowd.

Registrations are flowing in now with the 66km option being the most popular closely followed by 100km. 100milers and 33km riders are behind.
So far we have 10 100miler riders.

Remember: you will be riding almost ALL the tracks of Mt Stromlo at this race. A loop that has never been raced on before.

It will take me a week to bunt but will be worth it!

Booked in for this last week and can't wait! Even though 66km of single-track will probably cook me, I couldn't think of a better place and will do plenty of the "cruise" part of the event ha ha!
All the skinnies around the place will be a good distraction- I hope the see-saw and gap jump (on the luge) will be available!

Great idea to start at 5am for the 100miler so they finish with everyone else. I remember last year, everyone packing up and going home with these poor souls still busting their gut out on course. I am thinking about the 100miler this year. Is there a camping option at Stromlo and if there is, what time is camping available on the Friday night?

no idea whats going on with online regs. i dont want to purchase a day membership as i am a MTBA/WSMTB member wont let me proceed with 0 qty! BOO!

This is always a bit tricky as we leave registration open as late as possible and consolidate our riders lists only once they are closed. Which gets them ready in time for the race but not much earlier. Will try to put one out there.

Being a reasonable sized event, will the main gates be open longer for later campers? I'm sure there's plenty of folks like me several hours away that can't get to Canberra in the daylight hours on Friday.

PS is the weather playing havoc.. IE does stromlo close? or are we ok rain hail or shine?
