The quick version:

STEERER: the tube that runs through the headset of your bike and attaches to the fork's....

CROWN: the horizontal hunk of metal at the top of the fork, usually forged, which the steerer to the pair of....

STANCHIONS: the two upper legs, the bits that dont move relative to the bike. Sometimes you won't be able to see them because of the rubber boots. The stanchions sit inside the....

SLIDERS: or lower legs. The big fat bits with the arch which, wait for it....slide! They have the dropout at the bottom.

They're the major parts, then you've got seals internals etc. but im tired so somebody else can explain those.

Ok, from top down:

Steerer tube: bit that goes through your headtube, stem clamps to it
Crown: part(s) that clamp your fork legs to the steerer tube
Arch: brace that holds the outers together but moves with the wheel (non-inverted forks only)
Inners (staunchions): the inner "leg" of the fork
Outers: the outer leg of the fork
Dropouts: where your wheel clamps into.
