Ive still got a Percentage FX1 4x frame if your interested. Quiet a long frame.. very race orientated but would be good for trails with the extra room.
Hand made here in Australia and raced by Wade Bootes! Frame is near new with a couple cable rubs etc on it.
The quality of his frame is pretty top end of those who know..
The troof is very very very slack, as with all ragleys. I really don't think it would make a nice 4x/dj bike at all. It would smash big downhill jumps and drops, but having ridden a blue pig theyre quite relaxed, slack bikes.
My theory is more that It would more trails focused and for the occasional weekend i would hit a DJ or pump track it would suffice as most bikes i could build as more a trail bike i would end up with a massively high standover.
Bump this thread.
would like more imput... really struggling to go past a STP but cant get a post long enough.
a NS society or Ragley is really starting to appeal to me.
Go the Blue Pig. The Troof is angled towards a 160-180mm fork and would be a bit slack. I've had my Blue Pig Mk.1 for nearly a year now and it is without question one of the best handling hardtails i've ever ridden. Use with a Talas/U-Turn fork to steepen/shorten for jumping and XC duties and wind it out for everything else. You won't be disappointed. The Mk.2 is exactly the same angles but has a bigger seat-tube to fit a dropper post.
I'm not sure how tall you are so this may be pointless, but I went through this same thing about 6 months ago and ended up with a Charge Blender. I am in love with this bike and it gets ridden more than my stumpjumper or nomad. Yeah it's a little tough pedalling it uphill but the downs and corners are mind altering! It only comes in one size which is perfect for me at 173cm. I got a great deal on one from iRide in Melbourne - very, very cheap as I think the distributor is trying to get rid of them!
Here is a link to my build over on MTBR. It's at the top of the last page (14)
