This will most likely be 6-7am start and stopping by 4 due to noise/traffic restrictions. The forecast I've read is 25 truck movements an hour. Not sure if that's 24 hours a day.
That's IF they can accommodate some kind of crossing from any of the trails that run below the firetrail, otherwise you'll end up with a disconnected ride.Just to clarify, they're only closing the light blue and green loops.
You're right, I can't imagine anyone being allowed to ride the fire roads while there's large trucks and equipment using it.That's IF they can accommodate some kind of crossing from any of the trails that run below the firetrail, otherwise you'll end up with a disconnected ride.
The other option being thrown in would be the bridge rd firetrail. Not sure how that would change the proposed closures much.
I'm assuming they want the green and light blue loop for staging area to dump loads onto the conveyor which will take it down the quarry. I'm thinking at least a couple of big excavators in this location as well as compaction machines down In the quarry itself. It's gonna be dusty and loud.... Can't see them letting a trail run anywhere near the work zone.
If it does get shut down while they run the full operation, maybe they could formalize westleigh as a replacement in the meantime and then complete the original idea of linking the two later.
